Overview

Set up your first automation

What's better than having an automation generating revenue automatically while you attend to daily matters?

Once activated, automations run without any need for monitoring. You can periodically check their performance and make modifications if needed.

Here are our top-performing automations that are essential for every business:

Name

Abandoned cart Automation

Utilizing WhatsApp in your abandoned cart flows allows you to engage more timely than email and stand out from competition.

  • Recover 30% of Abandoned carts

  • 20x ROI

Post-Purchase Opt-in

Use the purchase confirmation as an opportunity to request opt-in and expand your WhatsApp exclusive club.

  • 60% Opt-In rate

Onboarding Journey

Maximizing the value from your website traffic is crucial. Adding opt-in option to a welcome pop-up is an effective way to collect visitors’ consent. Directly follow up with an offer to engage your audience.

  • 70% CTR

  • x25 ROI

We always recommend starting with the abandoned cart flow because it's straightforward to implement and provides an excellent preview of WhatsApp's potential. πŸ‘‡

Set up the Abandoned cart Flow

Step 1: Connect your Shopify Store

To use the Abandoned Cart Template, you need to connect your Shopify store to Kiosk. Don't worry, it only takes a minute.

  • Go to Integrations, find the Shopify card and click on "Connect".

  • Enter Your Shopify Store Domain ("myshop.myshopify.com"), follow the instructions and done!

Step 2: Using the Template

Now you can go to Automations and select the Abandoned Cart Template.

Choosing this template will duplicate the automation and set you up with everything.

Don't hesitate to modify the content to match your brand's tone of voice and personalize the media. You can also adjust the delay time before the message is sent.

For more detailed instructions, read our article on ↗️ How to set up your own Abandoned cart Flow.

Once you're satisfied with the setup, activate the flow to start sending your first messages. πŸŽ‰

Getting your first WhatsApp subscribers

Now that you have an automation running, it's time to set up entry points to grow your audience in a fully automated way.

βŠ• Learn more: See ↗️ WhatsApp Marketing compliance in the EU to understand the regulations concerning opt-in.

Most common methods to Collect Opt-Ins:

  • Shopify Checkout: Utilize the checkout process to capture opt-ins. This method capitalizes on a moment when customer interest in your brand is at its peak.

  • Klaviyo Pop-up: Implement a pop-up on your site that offers an incentive, such as a promotional offer, in exchange for the opt-in. This method effectively attracts subscribers by providing immediate value.

By integrating these entry points, you can efficiently grow your WhatsApp subscriber list and enhance your marketing reach.

Shopify Checkout

Step 1: Modify your Shopify checkout

Add a WhatsApp opt-in at the end of the Contact Information form to seamlessly gather consents from customers as they finalize their contact details.

  • To implement this, go to Settings > Checkout in your Shopify admin panel, find the 'Consent for marketing' section, check the SMS marketing option, and ensure you include terms of service and privacy policy details from Shopify's legal settings.

  • To modify the disclaimer copy with your SMS opt-in checkbox, go to Settings > Checkout, and find 'Checkout language'. Click on 'Manage checkout language' to search for "accept marketing" and modify the 'Accept marketing checkbox label' field by adding the mention WhatsApp right after of instead of SMS.

Step 2: Create the entry point

Now that your checkout is functional and compliant, you can easily link it to Kiosk so contacts information is collected. Simply go to the Entry Points tab and enable the Shopify Checkout Entry Point:

Klaviyo Pop-up

Step 1: Adapt your Klaviyo Pop-up

You probably already have a pop-up on your website collecting emails. The idea here is to add a second tab to your pop up in order to collect WhatsApp opt-ins. You can use Klaviyo's easy drag & drop feature and SMS opt-in template to quickly create this tab.

Go to Klaviyo Sign-up forms and add a second step to your Email Pop-up:

The wording is crucial for compliance. Use the following template:

β€œBy providing your phone number, you agree to receive WhatsApp messages from [Brand]. Messages may include marketing and transactional content, such as cart reminders. Message frequency may vary. Msg & Data rates may apply. Text STOP to opt-out or HELP for assistance. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more details.”

Step 2: Link the Pop-up to Kiosk with an Entry Point

To ensure the information from your Klaviyo pop-up is collected seamlessly, you need to add a hidden field to the submit button.

  • First, create the Klaviyo Pop-up Entry Point:

  • Then, add a hidden field to the submit button of the Klaviyo Pop-up:

  • Set the Profile Property to kiosk_form_id.

  • Find the Field Value for this property in your Kiosk Entry Point settings and enter it in the Klaviyo pop-up.

For more detailed instructions, refer to our article ↗️ Collect WhatsApp Opt-ins from Klaviyo Pop-Ups or reach out to the Kiosk team for assistance.

Now, with two entry points connected, your audience will grow automatically, and you can engage them through campaigns. To explore more ways to expand your audience, check out our collection of articles ↗️ List Growth πŸ“ˆ.

Launch your first Campaign

Now that you have an audience, you can regularly engage them through campaigns. If you already have an SMS list, sending an initial campaign to convert that list into WhatsApp opt-in contacts is essential!

Here are the most common and effective campaigns:

Campaign

Description

Convert your SMS list to WhatsApp

Leverage the broader engagement capabilities of WhatsApp by directly launching a WhatsApp campaign targeted at your SMS list. In this campaign, you would directly solicit opt-in from your subscribers.

  • 40% Opt-in Conversion

Special Offer

Engage your audience whenever you think it's relevant with the proper offer. The most generic yet still effective campaign.

  • 25% Conversion

Drive in Store Visits

Retail can constitute up to 80% of our clients' revenue. Setting up campaigns to steer subscribers towards in-store purchases is key.

  • 90% Open rate

The campaign system is similar for each type, so we'll use the SMS Opt-in Conversion Campaign as an example.

Send a Campaign to convert your SMS subscribers list

Step 1: Connecting your Klaviyo account

To access your SMS subscriber list and launch your campaign, follow this simple step:

  • Go to Integrations and connect your Klaviyo account with Kiosk.

Once connected, Kiosk will sync your Klaviyo contacts, including different segments. This will allow you to access your SMS subscriber list within Kiosk.

Step 2: Create your campaign using a template

  • Go to the Campaigns tab in Kiosk and click on ✚ New in the top right corner.

  • Select the "Convert your SMS list to WhatsApp" template. This will redirect you to the edit tab of your new campaign.

How It Works:

Each campaign consists of three main tabs: Audience, Content, and Recap & Scheduling.

Select your Audience:

  • Access your Klaviyo and Shopify segments.

  • For this campaign, toggle the option "Also send this campaign to contacts that never opted". This ensures the campaign reaches your SMS subscribers, as their opt-in status is recorded in Klaviyo or Shopify, not Kiosk.

Customize your Content:

  • Media: Upload a visual that aligns with your brand to make the WhatsApp message visually appealing and personalized.

  • Message Content: Use the provided template as a guide but feel free to add your own creative touch. Ensure you adapt the promo code and include a link to your store

Launch or Schedule your Campaign:

  • Test the Campaign: Click on "Test Campaign" and scan the QR code to see how the message looks. Iterate as much as needed until you're happy with the results

πŸ“Œ Tip: Use square or landscape media for the best message formatting.

  • Launch or Schedule: Once satisfied, you can either launch the campaign immediately or schedule it for a later time.

Templates are designed to streamline the process, but you can always start from scratch and build your campaign entirely on your own. βš™οΈ

  • Regular Audience Engagement: Send special offers and updates to generate revenue.

If you need any help along these steps, don't hesitate to reach out to a member of the Kiosk Team.

Congrats πŸŽ‰! You're now set up to maximize your WhatsApp marketing strategy.
